Sue Bee Honey Teams Up with "The King"

ATLANTA (March 20, 2005) – The Sioux Honey Association, marketers of the Sue Bee brand of honey and sponsors of Kyle Petty, have announced that they are expanding their highly successful racing program to include an ongoing relationship with Richard “The King” Petty. In addition to being a spokesperson in Sue Bee advertising, Richard will be part of an unprecedented car giveaway that will give a lucky consumer the chance to win a street-legal replica of Richard’s 1970 Plymouth Superbird.

The custom-fabricated Superbird replica includes not only identical paint and decals as seen on the historic race car, but custom bodywork, racing wheels, extended Superbird nose and, of course, the massive rear spoiler that made the 1970 Superbird so extraordinary.

Sue Bee plans to begin accepting entries for the contest in May of this year. Consumers can enter to win and learn more about the promotion by visiting www.suebee.com.

To support the promotion, Sue Bee will feature the “Win the King’s Car” sweepstakes in a national Sunday newspaper insert (FSI), plus national television and radio advertising, special packaging, grocery store displays and web site promotion.

Sue Bee has been one of Kyle Petty’s sponsors for the past two years and, based on the strong business results generated by that relationship, Sue Bee decided to add the new sponsorship with Richard Petty.

“Sue Bee has been on the Petty’s kitchen table for as long as I can remember,” says seven-time NASCAR Champion Richard Petty. “I’ve watched them working with Kyle and I’m looking forward to being part of the Sue Bee family.”
The Sioux Honey Association, the world’s largest honey marketing organization, is a cooperative marketing association promoting the sale of Sue Bee Honey worldwide through grocery, wholesale grocery, drug, industrial, foodservice and club stores throughout the world. Collectively, this co–op produces around 40 million pounds of honey annually. Sue Bee Honey is the only nationally advertised brand of honey in the United States and only features honey from the United States, earning its identity as “America’s Honey.”
