Brazilian Honey-Spice Bread

Servings: 1 loaf
Ingredients
1/2 cup Sue Bee Honey
1/3 cup milk
1/3 cup icing sugar
1/3 cup vegetable oil
2 eggs
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
2 cups all-purpose flour
2/3 cup brown sugar
1-2 teaspoon milk
Directions
  1. In a medium saucepan, combine the milk and brown sugar.
  2. Cook and stir over low heat until the sugar is dissolved.
  3. In a bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves.
  4. Gradually blend in the milk mixture, honey, eggs and vegetable oil.
  5. Turn the batter into a greased 8" x 4" loaf pan.
  6. Bake at 350 degrees F for 55 to 60 minutes or until done, covering with foil the last 15 minutes.
  7. Cool in the pan 10 minutes.
  8. Remove from the pan and cool thoroughly.
  9. If desired, combine icing sugar and enough milk to make a glaze of spreading consistency; frost the cooled loaf.
  10. Decorate with candied fruit.
