1-1/2 cups almonds
4 cups pecans or walnuts
1 cup powdered sugar
2 Tbsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 cup margarine or butter
Directions
  1. Combine the above ingredients in a large mixing bowl.
DOUGH
Ingredients
1-1/2 cups margarine or butter
1 lb. filo dough
24 oz. jar Sue Bee Honey
Directions
  1. (Once the package of filo dough is opened, place a damp dish towel over unused layers so it won't dry out.)
  2. Butter a 15 x 10-inch baking pan.
  3. Line the prepared pan with 7 layers of filo dough, buttering every other filo before laying the next.
  4. Spread 1/3 of the nut mixture on filo.
  5. Cover with 6 layers of filo, again buttering every other layer.
  6. Spread another third of nut mixture over top layer of filo.
  7. Add another 6 filo layers, buttering every other filo.
  8. Spread remaining nut mixture over top filo layer.
  9. Finish layering and buttering remaining filo.
  10. Trim top layer of filo to 1/4 inch inside baking pan.
  11. Press all edges down with the back of a spoon.
  12. Butter top filo layer well.
  13. Cut the top layer only into a diamond shape and pour remaining butter over it.
  14. Bake 15 minutes at 400 degrees or until filo is brown and puffy.
  15. Remove from oven and pour Sue Bee Honey over top.
  16. Cool and carefully cut into 1 inch pieces.
